I am usually 3, and matched myself to 3 Cool, but Charlotte took a look and thought I’d do better with 4 Neutral. I now have them both and will have a play and decide.

The Light Wonder is my current go-to for a luminous look (at times, a little too luminous but y’know) and it is indeed very skin-like. There is adequate emollience in the formula to disguise dry or flaky patches and it’s relatively kind to pores (although it’s not a silicone-laden-pore-filling-formula, a la Armani Foundations). Charlotte Tilbury will be launching the Expert Foundation Founder when this product launches. But basically, I think you can take the same shade you use in Light Wonder. The brand Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation is all about hydrated, plumper, smoother and brighter skin. Duplicate a high-end product or never buy the same shade twice. My only critique is the coverage, ultimately it’s a sheer coverage base and I prefer medium buildable, to minimise the amount of product I have to load on ma face. This product does mix very well with the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, occasionally I’ll add a drop to offer greater coverage and lift the shade a touch. The finish of this foundation is matte but it can work for dry skin types as long as your base is prepped really well. Hydration is key so an essence, serum, rich moisturiser and hydrating primer are essential steps before applying this foundation. With an impressive 44 shades to choose from, you’re destined to find one that’s the absolute perfect match for both your skin tone and undertone.
Ingredients
There is Rose Complex for dullness, dryness, pigmentation and dark circles, and Hyalurosmooth for uneven texture, dryness and dullness. I love pink and my style tends to be pretty natural. At the five hour mark, I’m craving a blot and I’m normal to dry.
It delivers a natural looking flawlessness with minimal effort and you hardly need any product to cover the whole face. I think it gets more velvet-matte (very natural), the more you use, and I also think it’s looks better on the skin the longer you wear it. The coverage I would describe as sheer, buildable to a medium. Out of the tube, #4 looks neutral enough to match my olive skin but it oxidises to a slightly warmer hue – nothing major but something to consider. The best way to apply this foundation is with a dense but fluffy brush.
This does not in any way affect the price you pay for the item, and absolutely does not influence my choice of items to show you. This foundation lasts for 5 hours without blotting, which is good for me. AIRBRUSH FLAWLESS FOUNDATION SHADES FOR DEEP TAN SKIN
It is very durable and lasts the whole day, even when it’s hot. Aside from the little extra sheen, it wore beautifully. Where some foundations look downright unsightly towards the end of the day, the Light Wonder doesn’t awkwardly cake up, separate or sink into laugh lines. The finish is quite mattifying too, so for the smoothest finish, make sure you prep your skin well with a good serum, moisturiser and primer as hydration is key.
I personally find it lasts most of the day and wears very naturally without patching. It lasts even better when powdered but I haven’t really been bothering with this as I haven’t been out that much. Yes, this formula will definitely please the beauty junkies that love a bit of glow. It makes skin look healthy and hydrated and not greasy-looking. As you will see from the swatches above, there is a very soft shimmer running through the foundation to give it a good amount of glow. This is not something to be scared of, as it doesn’t translate on to the skin at all and instead gives a lovely flattering finish.
I actually don’t love a gloss all over, I find it catches the light on the t-zone to make it look more textured than it actually is. I much prefer the foundation once the t-zone has been powdered. It is such a light formula, and you can stretch the smallest dot of product over your whole face. You can layer for more coverage, but it literally covers everything and still looks like skin. I usually like a glowy foundation but this is so good. So I thought I would cut straight to the chase with the shade chat.
The doe-foot applicator made getting just a touch out easier for highlighting the high points of the face, though it was less useful for getting product for mixing in. The finish is glowy and looks very smooth on the skin. The best part is that despite being so luminous is actually dry on the face and it doesn’t create that greasy feeling. Out of the foundations that I’ve tested as of late, the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder is up there – four out of five stars, perhaps?
